Our Process
We are very proud of our 8 step process. It covers all stages of a project from intial meeting through to final launch and ongoing maintenence of each site. Each step allows the client to be involved in the process and also ensures that every one of our projects achieves the objectives laid out in the brief.
-
1. Meet and Understand
The first step is all about the client. We want to understand what it is they are trying to acheive with their web prescence. We sit down with them and find out how we can best help reach their objectives.
-
2. Research and Ideas
Once we understand our clients needs we move on to researching how to best fulfil those needs. We look at what the competition is doing, current industry trends and we come up with ideas and direction for the project. The client is then presented with our findings for feedback and further refinement.
-
3. Concept & Wireframing
One of the most important steps, it lays the foundations for everything that follows. We create detailed wireframes of each page, clearly showing where different elements are positioned. This allows us to get a clear picture of how users will interact with the site before we start adding design elements. The client is presented with these wireframes for feedback and refinement.
-
4. Design
Possible the best known step in the process, we create design 'visuals' showing exactly how the site will look once built. These are presented to the client in the form of images for feedback and further refinement.
-
5. Development
This is where we get down to the technical stuff; building the site in a way which is fully standards complient, accessible and user friendly. We provide the client with a link to the development site so that they can see how it is progressing and provide feedback throughout.
-
6. Content Entry
Once the site is built we provide the client with full training on the Content Management System so that they can enter all of the sites content. Alternatively we can enter the content for them. We remain on hand to resolve any issues that arise at this stage of the process.
-
7. User Testing & Bugfixing
Before the site can be launched we need to make sure that it works as we want it to, so we get real users to test it allowing us to fix and tweak the site for specifically for it's target audience. We also iron out any bugs that were not descovered in the previous two steps.
-
8. Launch! (and ongoing)
Once the site has been thoroughly tested we open it up to the world! Then we sit down and have a nice cup of tea. However we can't stop for too long as a successful site requires ongoing maintenance and improvement. Of course this is discussed in depth with the client to ensure that just the right amount of support and maintenance is provided to meet their needs and budget.
They listened to what we wanted but also gave us good advice.
