MPC Intranet

In detail...

When MPC hired Aab Web to develop their internal website (also known as an 'Intranet'), they had a sprawling uncontrolled 'Wiki' which was proving impossible to keep up-to-date. 

The solution we designed, built and continue to support has given their documentation and internal organisation a new lease of life. Information essential to running each project and the company as a whole is centralised and accessible as well as easy to update and extend. All of their 500+ staff can view, edit and create content on the Intranet, while the sytem keeps things organised and easy to find in a way that the previous 'Wiki' simply could not manage. THe result is a site in excess of 4000 pages and growing, presented in a clean highly interactive website, all managed through an intuitive and organised SilverStripe interface.

Because MPC have headquarters in 5 countries, they also needed a way to have 'Location specific information'. We built a system that allows editors to 'tag' pages, users and projects as being related to particular locations which would then only show up when the viewer was set to that location. Each users location was automatically detected when they open up the Intranet, and they can then switch between location using the location menu at the top of every page.

Ultimately MPC have found a powerful, rich and easy to use Intranet to be an invaluble tool in continuing their ascent to internationally renowned post production house.
