In detail...

When Type Out approached Aab Web they had an existing site which they felt was not performing well and was in need to modernisation. They also wanted to have a modern identity for the company that presented them in a professional yet fresh way. They also wanted a way to keep their website up-to-date themselves without having to involve us or uncur update costs.

We began the process by developing a Logo for Type Out as well as the wireframe concepts for the new site, allowing the client to see which content would be on which page and the positioning/scale of it. Design visuals then followed which attempted to encompas the look and feel of the logo throughout the site. We believe that an important part of any site is allowing the user to easily digest the information presented and easily find more detailed information shold they need it, which was something that was very important in this design as Type Out had a lot of information to present to potential clients. We used icons and summary pages to achieve this, allowing the user to quickly scan and dive into the sections they are interested in.

The final site allowed typeout full control over their content via the SilverStripe CMS which Aab Web customised to fit the required functionality. No content is every required to be entered more than once, as pages which summarise content from others pull that content in automatically. For example the system will look for any clients that have been marked as 'featured' by Type Out and display two of them on the home page. This means that content can be kept consistent and up to date and Type Out can get on with running their business effectively.
